What is it with the holidays?

Well this Christmas has taken a turn….

My uncle, who is diabetic, had a bit of an episode the other night with his blood sugar. He ended up in a heap on the floor with one of those large microwave ovens on top of him which managed to destroy his shoulder.

Thankfully, they were able to get him stabilized and to a local hospital. Sounded like things were heading south in a very rapid manner. The local hospital decided they didn’t have what it took to repair his shoulder, so he’s been moved to Indy.

Problem now is, with the ice that settled on Indy, the bone dr’s are all tied up in surgery patching up those who were unable to remain in the upright position. So, if you don’t mind, please offer up a prayer or two for my family in Indiana. Between two sets of elderly parents, my smashed up uncle, and the weather, my parent’s have their hands full.

I still hope we can get to Indiana for a Christmas visit, but given the circumstances, I’d rather glad to be at home here in Missouri, than heading to a funeral in Indiana.
